Here are the steps for isolating data in Google Analytics for a specific digital program.
Step 1: Identify the program number
- Go to your InstantGuide dashboard
- Click on the program in question
- Go to the program's Preview tab
- Scroll down to the field containing the URL for that specific program
- The program number appears in the URL after /program/
- Copy /program/ and the number
Step 2: Filter data in Google Analytics
- Log into Google Analytics
- Select InstantGuide from the list of your account's properties
- In the side menu, go to Engagement >> Pages and screens
- Find the Search field above the list at the end of the page
- Make sure that the dropdown option below Search is set to Path page + query string and screen class
- Enter /program/ and the number from Step 1
- You will be provided with a list of partial URLs for pages associated with that program
- Change the dropdown option to Page title + screen name
- Now, the list shows page titles instead of URLs
Step 3 (optional) - Go beyond "Digital Program Book" with page numbers
We added page title information to Google Analytics on January 21, 2022. Programs created prior to that date may display a Digital Program Book list item to cover all pages viewed before 1/21/2022.
What do you do if you want to isolate the data for one of the pages included in the Digital Program Book list item?
- Go to your InstantGuide dashboard
- Click on the program in question
- Go to the program's Preview tab
- Scroll down to click on the Open in New Tab button
- Go to the page in question
- The page number appears in the URL after /page/
- Copy the program and page info in the URL -- Example: /program/6717/page/7389
- Complete Step 2 above using the combined program + page information
- The results will show Digital Program Book for page interactions prior to 1/21/2022
- The results will show the page title for page interactions on or after that date
