In addition to being available as a website, InstantGuide can be displayed natively in your app. This provides a streamlined user experience.
There are several ways to display InstantGuide content in your app:
- Tab on the menu: Tapping the item opens the list of published programs. Works for both the Collapsible and Tab Bar menu styles.
- Event details screen: A "View Program" button positioned just below the "Buy Tickets" button goes directly to that specific program.
- Ticket screen (Tessitura integration only): A "View Program" button positioned just above the barcode goes directly to that specific program.
- Home Card: Create a custom card that goes to either the programs listing or a specific program.
The InstantGuide-InstantApps integration requires your app to be on version 10.02.00 or greater. If your app has not been updated yet you can still do the steps below, but the program will not appear in your app.
Tab on the menu
This tab will take users to the listing of all published programs.

To enable the tab in your app:

- Check the Display check box for the Digital Programs card type to enable this tab.
- Reorder the tab by dragging the arrow up or down.
- Click the tab to edit the label text and icon.

To associate a program with your Tessitura Production Season or Performance:
- Get the ID of the InstantGuide program you want to associate with your event. This ID is specific to InstantGuide and is not a Tessitura ID. You can get the ID from the URL when you are editing the InstantGuide program.
- In Tessitura, create a row in the TR_INV_CONTENT system table to hold your program notes url for the app. If one already exists you do not need to create a new one. See How do I add information to my event pages? for detailed instructions.
- Again, in Tessitura, go to Ticketing Setup, select the Production Season, and go to the "Content" tab. Add a row for the Content Type you created above and put in the InstantGuide program ID in the value. This will work on any level (Title, Production, Production Season, or Performance), but typically you will use Production Season.
- In the InstantEncore Control Panel, go to go to the API Settings (Control Panel > InstantApps > Tessitura) and expand the Content Types section. Associate the Content Type from Tessitura with the Program Notes URL field and click the Update button.
Repeat steps 1 and 3 for all other programs you want to associate with your Tessitura events.
Event Details Screen (InstantEncore events)
This button will take users directly to the specific program for the event.

- Leave blank if you do not want to associate the event with a program.
Customizing the text on the "View Program" button
To customize the text that appears on the "View Program" buttons described above:
- Log into instantencore.com and go to the Tabs page (Control Panel > InstantApps > Tabs).
- Click on the Digital Programs card type.
- In the Manage Tab section edit the View Program Button Text field and click Save.
Custom Card on the Home Cards screen
If you use the Home Cards screen you can create a custom card to go to either the programs listing or a specific program.
To add a custom card:
- Follow the instructions for creating a custom home card.
- Enter one of these URL's depending on where you want the user to go:
Program listings: #programs
Specific program: #programs/ID
Replace ID with the InstantGuide program ID. This ID is specific to InstantGuide and is not a Tessitura ID. You can get the ID from the URL when you are editing the InstantGuide program.
