Customers who log in to your app can view purchased (fully-paid) tickets for upcoming events in the My Tickets area of My Account. Tickets also appear on the Home Cards screen if you enable it.
Get Ticket Design Number and Barcode Element Number
In Tessitura, you will need to get the Ticket Design Number and Barcode Element ID for any ticket design that you would like to display as a barcode in the app.
Requirements:
- You must use a data element in the Seat data group that displays either the Ticket_No or N-Scan Number. You can use a pre-existing data element or add an additional field. This field may result in the ticket or N-Scan number being printed on the actual ticket. If you want to minimize its appearance, we recommend using the smallest font possible, turning it vertical, and putting it off to the side.
- The Print as Barcode checkbox must be unchecked.
Note: If your ticket design already has an element for the Ticket_No or N-Scan Number that requires this box to be checked, then you can create a new element on the ticket design. If you place the new element off the edge of the ticket design it won't be printed on your physical tickets, but you'll still be able to use it for your digital tickets. This will prevent disruption with current hard copy printed tickets.
- We suggest unchecking the Print Ticket Text box.
Reprint Minutes Setting
To ensure that patrons can access their tickets after the performance start time (for example if they are arriving right as the show starts), please ensure that Reprint Minutes is set to a reasonable value. For instructions see How do I check the Reprint Minutes Setting?
Update My Ticket Settings
Log into instantencore.com and go to the My Tickets Settings (Control Panel > InstantApps > Tessitura > Digital Tickets).
-
Barcode Format: Code 128 (parallel lines) or QR Code (square blocks)
-
Ticket Barcode Elements: Enter the ticket design number and barcode element number for any ticket design that you would like to display as a barcode in the app. To use multiple design and element combinations use a pipe separated list.
Example: 2075, 5318 | 2065, 5282 | 2100, 5737
-
Tickets Availability Window (Optional): Enter the number of hours before an event starts that ticket barcodes for that event will be displayed in the app. (If blank, tickets will be available at any time before the event.) Optionally, you can add customized text to display when patrons attempt to access tickets prior to this availability window.
Please be aware that if customers load a My Tickets barcode in the app prior to their tickets being printed, TNMP will mark those tickets printed in Tessitura, thus potentially removing the order from a batch print (e.g. - for will-call.). Use the "My Tickets Availability Window" value to prevent customers from viewing tickets in the app until after tickets can be batch printed for will-call.
-
Performance Types that Ignore the Tickets Availability Window (Optional): Tickets for performances with these types will be available in the app any time before the event regardless of the Tickets Availability Window setting.
-
Performance Types to Include: Use this setting to only display specific Performance Types in the My Tickets section of the app. Leave blank to display any Performance Type in My Tickets.
-
MOS to Ignore (Optional): Enter a comma separated list of Mode of Sale ID numbers that you wish to exclude (ex: 1, 2, 3). Completed orders in these ignored modes of sale will not appear in the My Tickets section.
-
Production Season ID's to Ignore (Optional): Enter a comma separated list of Production Season ID's (ex: 1, 2, 3). Performances in these Production Seasons will not appear in the My Tickets section.
-
Hide Barcode for Delivery Methods (Optional): A comma separated list of Delivery Methods ID's (ex: 1, 2, 3). Tickets from orders made with these shipping methods will be accessible from the app, but the barcode will not be displayed. You can optionally customize the message that users will see instead of the barcode.
-
Ticket Share Enabled (Optional): If checked, ticket sharing will be enabled in the app. If unchecked, users will not have the option to share tickets via the app.
- Click Update.
Adding Venue Address and Map Link
If supplied in Tessitura, the venue address will be displayed under the venue name with a map link to open on the user's device. The venue address and map link will display on the digital ticket and in the event's information in the app. This requires app version 14.05.00 or higher.
HTML Supported: Bold (<b></b>), Italic (<i></i>), and Line Break (<br/>)
Adding Ticket Design Elements
See How do I add design elements from Tessitura to My Tickets? for details on adding ticket elements from your Tessitura Ticket design to My Tickets.
Redeemable Tickets
On a Redeemable Ticket the barcode or QR code of the digital ticket is replaced with a button to redeem the ticket. When a ticket it is redeemed, the information is sent to Tessitura and it is tracked as if it was scanned. Users can only redeem a ticket once. After being redeemed the ticket will show a message that it has already been redeemed.
See How do I set up Redeemable Tickets? for details.
Troubleshooting
If there is an error when the user tries to view their tickets, please check the following:
Ticket Design ID and Price Type
Verify that the ID of the ticket design that is associated with price type is in "Ticket Barcode Elements" setting from above
Printing selected for Price Type and Mode of Sale
Verify that the "Printing" check box is selected for the price type on the user's ticket and the MOS used for the order.
Check the Mode of Sale's "ETicket Release Date"
If the "ETicket Release Date" of the MOS is in the future then the ticket can't be printed and the app can't get the barcode till that date. You can remove the date or make it in the past to allow the app the print and display the barcode.
Check Reprint Minutes
If the tickets aren't viewable after the performance time starts, check the "Reprint Minutes" value in the TR_PAHT_CONFIGURATION table. This setting determines which tickets will be reprinted if a performance in an order has passed. For example if this value is set to 10, and an order is reprinted, then all performances whose starting time is more than 10 minutes in the past will not be reprinted. If 0 is entered, no past performances will be reprinted.
If you have more than one entry in this table, set it for all rows with a relevant MOS. The row with MOS 0 is the default.
Permissions for the Mode of Sale
Check that API User Group used by the app has permissions for the Mode of Sale used to purchase the order.
